Voter Panel member Egan on Palin: “Game on.”
August 29th, 2008 at 12:12pm Chuck Sweeny
Here’s RRS Voters Panel member Terrence Egan’s take on Sarah Palin:
“First time I’ve heard of her and who is she?
What brilliant timing for McCain as none of the TV news shows are recapping the Obama speach just 12 hours later.
Palin could help secure the female vote - those who were so wild for Hillary and who are let down.
Did I mention most people have never heard of her? Who is she? Here’s a thought…. at McCain’s age this gal we do not know anything about could be one heart beat away from the Presidency. The news is reporting that she’s both a soccer mom and Moose hunter. How cool is that?
With Palin, there is an entire new race here. Game on.

Pretty gimmicky attempt to try and get the women who voted for Hillary. Hopefully it is seen by them for what it is, an insult to their intelligence. The idea that they would completely compromise their values and ideals, and vote for someone antithetical to Hillary’s platform just because he picked a woman as his running mate. The idea that they would vote for a well known misagynist, who believes that Viagra should be covered by insurance, but the Pill should not simply because he has chosen a woman on his ticket. McCain’s attempt to appeal to Hillary’s women voters is just another gimmick and it will fail. Despite the best efforts of the media to drum up controversy where none exists.

Milt - 18 million votes and he picked Biden. That was the insult.

Perhaps we should go to electing the president and vice president in separate elections…until that happens, it is the prerogative of the nominee to choose who his running mate will be.
