Morrissey may coast to re-election

Doesn’t anybody want to run for mayor against Larry Morrissey? He’s announcing his re-election bid for 2009 in a ceremony Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Cliffbreakers.
So far, Democrats and Republicans I’ve talked to say they don’ think he’ll have a major league challenger. It can be a rather daunting prospect when Morrissey already has $125,000 in the bank from the get-go.
So, maybe the 276 to 6′ers might want to have a re-vote. Maybe one of them will move back into Rockford and run against him.

yeah, maybe the 276’s should stop complaining and see what they can do!

The problem with the 276 is that most of them live outside the city limits and have no investment in the city, they only get paid by the city.
Also of note, when the union lent it’s leverage into the States Attorney’s race, it significantly damaged their preferred candidate.
