Socialist takeover hits Detroit. Barack and McCain say, ‘We’re down with it.’

3 comments September 17th, 2008

The triumphal march of socialism continues unabated, as the People’s Republic of America government continues to nationalize the private sector.

The latest evidence? The government is on the verge of giving Detroit’s Big Three a $25 billion in loan guarantees to allow the Big three to retool to make cars that can compete with Japanese and Korean cars. Both Barack Obama and John McCain are supportive, the New York Times says. Michigan’s a swing state, and the economy there is tanking. Remember in the primaries when McCain said those vanishing auto factory jobs weren’t coming back? He flip-flopped.

CBS — Who’ll Bail Out Uncle Sam?

Here’s a thought, courtesy of CBS News: Who’ll bail out Uncle Sam?

Here’s an excerpt from the story, by CBS White House correspondent Mark Knoller:

“The federal government may seem like a financial knight on a white steed riding to the rescue of big companies in trouble. The irony is that Uncle Sam’s got enormous money problems of his own.

“The government is far deeper in debt than any of the companies it’s bailing out.

“As of this morning, the national debt stands at over $9.634 trillion. That’s trillion - with a “T.” And that’s nearly $4 trillion more than it was on the day President Bush took office.

“This year alone, it’s costing taxpayers more than $230 billion just to pay the interest on the national debt. “

McCain slams Obama’s fab Hollywood celeb gala but raises just as much from non-glam rich guys

It’s kind of rich of John McCain to criticize Barack Obama for picking up $9 million from Hollywood celebs Tuesday nite in Tinseltown. Babs Streisand put on a show; there was a little din din, and moguls paid  $28,500 a ticket.

McCain has fatcat fundraisers, too, but the folks who attend aren’t on the A list, or on any list …. well maybe Bucket List, but that’s another movie, isn’t it? No, McCain tends to attract fourth generation car dealers from suburbia.

McCain picked up a cool $4 million in Chicago a couple of weeks ago, and he netted $5 million from a similar fundraiser in Miami the other day. So that equals Barry-O’s Hollywood haul. So there!
