The Democrats who control all aspects of government in Illinois are sitting on billions of dollars in federal funding for roads, and they have refused to spend it for years. Giving them billions more in federal funding to squander is not going to help.

I work for a state agency. We are desperately low on staff, mostly because of lack of funds. It seems the general public doesn't like us, and wants us to leave them alone, until they need us and we can't serve them the way we should. We are all worried about our jobs. Our office is still suffering from an early retirement incentive from several years ago from which there was a mass exodus of knowledge and experience.

I think help from the feds is in order, however, in Illinois. we also have to deal with our disfunctional legislature.
