Lemmons to challenge Aurand for Harlem Township supervisor
January 14th, 2009 at 06:20pm Chuck Sweeny
Harlem Township Supervisor (and Winnebago County Board member) Doug Aurand will have competition for re-election, after all. Jerry Lemmons, a Machesney Park village trustee, was nominated at Tuesday’s Harlem Township Republican caucus to be the party’s supervisor candidate. The supervisor is in charge of general assistance.
Lemmons will probably read this, because he e-mails me from time to time. Aurand, who freely admits he’s not computer-savvy and doesn’t read our “bogs,” (not a missprint) will have to read the print version.
Who do I support? I’m friends with both these guys. I was in the Auburn Choir with Lem, and then in a couple of rock ‘n’ roll bands with him. And I’ve been shooting the bull with Aurand since the early ’70s.
I wish both you guys were running against someone else.
