How’s that strict gun control working for you, Chicago?

According to the Associated Press in today’s Rockford Register Star, Chicago police have said a 14 year old boy was among the 13 people wounded and 1 killed just this Saturday night alone.

At least 30 people have been shot since 6:20 p.m. Friday, 7 of them fatally.

An 18-year-old man, identified as Alonzo Powell of the 100 block of North Parkside Avenue by the Cook County medical examiner’s office, was found about 8:15 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of North Pine Avenue in the South Austin neighborhood on the West Side and was pronounced dead at 8:24 p.m. at Mount Sinai Hospital, officials said.

Powell was found in a doorway with a gunshot wound to the head. Police recovered a revolver near his body. Two 18-year-olds were shot on the same block about 11:35 p.m. Friday.

Five other people including a 17-year-old girl have died since Friday evening after shootings. Richard Johnson, Derrick L. Baker, Taylor Diorio, Anthony Carter and Jason Smith are the names of the dead.

Maybe if the Daley clan would restore law-abiding citizens their Second Amendment rights in and around Chicago and the rest of the state, some of this crime could be reduced, since the criminals wouldn’t be the only ones carrying guns!
