Not the “change” Obama supporters had “hoped” for

The following changes have taken place since January 9, 2009 to election day November 6, 2012.

Gas Prices were $1.84 per gallon, now $3.69 per gallon, if you can even purchase gas in hurricane Sandy’s aftermath on the Eastern coast.

Obviously FEMA is not doing any better after Sandy, than government did after Katrina in the South – no change or hope there. No attacks from the media about the administration, because it’s Obama not Bush!

Unemployment was 7.8%, now 7.9% despite $800B stimulus spending and 24 million people out of work or underemployed. If those who gave up looking for work were counted in the total, unemployment would be over 12%! Hispanics unemployment rate last month was 10% and for balcks was 14.3% – They are all “hoping” that will “change”.

Food Stamp recipients increased from 31.9 Million to 46.7 Million people

People in poverty increased from 39.8 Million, to 46.2 Million in the U.S.

Poverty rate increased from 13.2% to 15% of Americans in less than 4 years.

National Debt was $10.6 Trillion, increased to $16.2 Trillion dollars in only one term and the first president to preside over a cut in the credit rating of the U.S. ever in peacetime and probably wartime!

First president to sue states for requiring valid ID’s to vote

First president to terminate America’s ability to put an American into space

Presided over a government attempting to tell a company where they could locate a plant – Boeing – must not be in a right-to-work state

No energy policy, no energy policy but many bankrupt green companies

Budgets each year, currently no budget in over three years

Promises made, promises broken over the entire four years

Promised Shovel ready jobs, denies permits for Keystone Pipeline

Promised to bring us together, now one of the most divisive presidents ever

Promised no tax increase < $250,000, raised taxes on everyone

Commander-in-chief is ready to cut $100’s of Billions from the military despite promise to protect and defend – didn’t defend Lybia!

Promised most transparant government – how many press conferences?

First president to golf more than 100 times and continually campaigned for at least the last three years while in office, with the fiscal cliff looming just around the corner.

Last but not least, the president is the redistributer-in-chief, who takes the money that an employee earned in 2009,  redistributes that money from the middle class to his supporters in the name of fairness, when it is really class hate being espoused by the president.

  1. Get your tissues ready. All that bad you listed and the republicans still can’ beat him. Dems are sad, but republicans are sadder. Enjoy the next 4 years.

I was hoping Mitt would win. Be nice to sit back and point out the other guys flaws for a while.

  2. Well Ted At least they let you speak. Even it was only on election day. To bad the Dems at rrstar don’t play fair. Just like our savior wannabe Obama.

  3. Milton Waddams

So you’re stooping to cutting and pasting chain emails now Ted? You’re better than this. Sad.

You forgot to mention that Obama is a muslim that was born in Kenya.

  4. The Tribune’s John Kass wrote that you shouldn’t vote for ANY Illinois Democrat (no matter how well-meaning they appear to be), unless you are satisfied with Madigan, Quinn, and Cullerton running this State into the ground.

The same holds true for “The Messiah”, and his minions.

  5. Brian Opsahl

So after today Ted, and America has spoken, will you be willing to put aside your obvious hatred towards our President, Would that even be possibly with you, or our we going to continue down this path that your republcans and the record number of filabusters have givin us so far….or is going to be more of the same ? I know he didn’t fix your mess fast enough for you and your Anti-American retoric….Please make it stop and come back to the America we all love so much…what say you !!

    • Ted Biondo

Brian, Obama had two years with his own party in control of both houses and all he could pass was Obamacare. I hope the US gets to see what can happen with Romney and both houses Republican for two years! We’ll see tomorrow.

  6. @ Milton: Care to dispute the validity of any of those “changes” that resulted from the Obama regime?

  7. Brian Opsahl

Wow thats intersting nussifer, You do know that what you just said is that we should listed to the Editor of the Chicago Tribune who has endorsed a Democrat Mr Obama. Right..!! so we should follow his direction because you said so…..and they endorsed Mr obama so thanks for confirming what we have been telling you all along. Were coming together tomarrow …Right !!

  8. Brian Opsahl

Why….when you never answer anybodys questions about Romney problem with telling the truth. Or about him selling the Freeport jobs to China, or the jeep story or the detroit bankruptsy lies….come on dude !! REALLY

  9. Adam Faber

“Gas Prices were $1.84 per gallon, now $3.69 per gallon, if you can even purchase gas in hurricane Sandy’s aftermath on the Eastern coast.”

Gas prices dropped from over $4 per gallon in summer of 2008 when the economy collapsed during the Bush regime and they have now rebounded. Regardless, the President does not set oil prices – rather, they are established by the global market. Supply and demand, you know, Ted?

“Obviously FEMA is not doing any better after Sandy, than government did after Katrina in the South – no change or hope there. No attacksabout the administration, because it’s Obama not Bush!”

This is not obvious. FEMA and Bush were widely criticized for the handling of Katrina while Gov. Christie has praised Obama’s help and FEMA’s response.

“Unemployment was 7.8%, now 7.9% despite $800B stimulus spending and 24 million people out of work or underemployed. If those who gave up looking for work were counted in the total, unemployment would be over 12%! Hispanics unemployment rate last month was 10% and for balcks was 14.3% – They are all ‘hoping’ that will ‘change’.”

That’s not even statistically true because the BLS monthly survey carries a 0.2% margin of error. Unemployment was 5.5% in October 2004 and basically every single metric on unemployment measuring Bush’s performance shows a deterioration.

“Food Stamp recipients increased from 31.9 Million to 46.7 Million people”

In late 2008, the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act increased benefits and eligibility. Bush vetoed the bill but Congress overrode the veto with bipartisan support. USDA officials said that there is less reluctance to apply for food stamps among the public. So while eligibility has increased — both due to legislation and the economy — so, too, has the participation rate. Only 54 percent of those who were eligible for aid signed up for it in 2002, but the figure in 2009 was 72 percent. State governments have taken steps to make applying for aid easier, and, since 2004, food stamps come in the form of a plastic card, like a credit card, easing the stigma of handing over paper food stamps at the grocery store. Sorry Ted, but you do not get to blame Obama for this since Congress and the states are responsible.

I’ll stop here. In the first four items in your list that we have examined, your attempts to blame this on Obama have failed, so there’s little point in continuing. You have demonstrated that you’re only interested in spin, emotion, lies and hyperbole and are not influenced by fact, logic, law or our Constitution.

  10. Brian Opsahl

Funny it’s the RED states that take the most from the Federal Government…They must be the Takers your Romney quietly talks about hmmm Ted. Also funny how it is the BLUE States that pay in more and get back less than those lazy worthless losers that live down there huh Ted,
After today a bucnh of you might realize that Fox has been lying to you and so has Romney …he is going to lose and they have been telling you that Romney will win ….so lets see who the liar is..?

  11. Brian Opsahl

Ted, The way Bain / Romney striped and Harvested Companys would be bad for YOU and ME, Your circle S pension would be at risk, are you willing to take that chance…really Ted, he has a track record of cutting the workers moving there jobs overseas so how long would it take for just about everyone to start making far less money than we do now…plus how can anybody trust anything your guy says Ted, he lies to you me and anybody he chooses to. You really want that..!!

  12. Adam Faber

Ted, do you care to respond to my refutation of some of your points or do you want to cling to the false notion that something is true just because you copied-and-pasted it?

    • Ted Biondo

I don’t respond to personal attacks, Adam. I’ve told you that in the past.

  13. @ Brian: I’ll take Romney’s business record (80% of companies that Bain took over survived) over Obama’s “Green jobs” program, where Obama cronies stuck the taxpayers for hundreds of billions of dollars when their companies went belly-up. BTW, the Obama cronies KEPT their money.

  14. Adam Faber

Wiktionary defines a “personal attack” as “making of an abusive remark instead of providing evidence when examining another person’s claims or comments.” Do you define “personal attack” differently?

I responded with actual facts that refute your assertions. Is that too much for you to handle?

    Source: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/personal_attack

  15. Milton Waddams

You’re right Ted, I won’t refute any of the cut and paste stuff you posted. I have much better things to do with my time and neither of you would pay any attention anyway. I delete chain emails. My point was and still is this: You are better than cutting and pasting, I’d like to think that you’re smarter than this, but that’s getting more and more difficult. As I’ve said before, your excellent analyses of local issues are overshadowed by these cut and paste jobs and the other breathless Obama is the devil posts. As I said, sad.

  16. Brian Opsahl

Ted, If he wins me and millions of Americans will have to save all our money because those big tax breaks he’s giving himself will come from somebody ..Right..so there goes’ my Morgtage deduction thus i will not be taking place in the ecnonmy because ever dime I make will go so Donald Trump and folks like him can have more so folks like me can have less….Yea thanks …i dont think so

  17. On a related note (crooked Democrats)….

Philly poll workers partially cover Obama mural after court order, leaving logo and quote in view

Workers at a Philadelphia polling place, after being ordered by a judge to cover up a mural of President Obama “in its entirety,” slapped up a few pieces of paper that only partially covered his image — while leaving the Obama campaign logo and a quote from the current president in full view for voters.

The judge’s order followed a wave of complaints from Republican officials concerned the giant image of the president could influence voters at the site, a school in Ward 35.

The mural, positioned behind the voting machines, contains the words “change!” and “hope,” along with a quote from the president and painting of him. Poll workers only covered up part of the mural, though, leaving the Obama campaign logo and other parts of the image visible, as well as the Obama quote.

Poll workers claimed only the face had to be covered.

Republicans quickly drew attention to the image Tuesday morning, with one Mitt Romney spokesman tweeting: “Voters in Philly’s Ward 35 are being forced to cast their ballots next to this.”

“It is an absolute disgrace,” said Shannon Royer, deputy secretary for external affairs and elections in Pennsylvania. “Election materials and electioneering inside the polling place are prohibited by state law. This can be interpreted as trying to influence voters inside the polling place. I am told discussions are going on now about covering the mural.”

Pennsylvania election law states “no person within a polling place may electioneer or solicit votes for any political party, political body, or candidate, nor may any unauthorized written or printed materials be posted within the polling place.”

Philadelphia County poll watcher Corbett Brown, 34, who originally alerted the Romney campaign to the mural, told FoxNews.com he found the 15-foot image “inappropriate.”

“There should not be any type of posters or any likeness of either of the candidate in the polling place. So I snapped a picture of it and sent it off to the local legal team who got an injunction from the judge to have it covered, because obviously it could pose a definite bias in voters,” he said.

“This should be a time when they are free from any type of persuasion and that could obviously happen if you have a big mural of the president.”

  18. And more crooked Democrats….

Texas Republicans Suing Democrat Party Over Polling Location Law Violations Including NAACP Takeover

UPDATE: The Harris County Republican Party won its lawsuit filed by Rep. County Attorney Candidate Robert Talton on behalf of the Party. Talton serves as legal counsel for the party. The judge granted the TRO requested by the Party within about three hours.

Early today TexasGOPVote posted a story by Brandon Darby about the abuses taking place by Democrat Election Officials in Harris County, Texas. The violations included a near take-over of a polling location by members of the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People). Incidents were so blatant that the NAACP members were actually moving people forward in line to vote ahead of other voters.

  19. A partially covered mural of the President at a polling place. Is that all Faux News can find? Why not cover voter suppression in Florida and Ohio for a change.

  20. More crooked Democrats…

Obama Poster Hanging in Florida Polling Station

A poster featuring President Obama that read “Change the Atmosphere” was reported to be hanging on a wall at a Florida, polling station.

  21. The Black Panthers are back!

Problems, Panthers surface at Pa. polls

Problems at the polls surfaced early Tuesday in the battleground state of Pennsylvania, with Republican election monitors being turned away from polling places and members of the New Black Panther Party appearing at voting sites in Philadelphia.

Pennsylvania Republican officials said 75 election monitors from the party were turned away from polling places in heavily Democratic sections of Philadelphia Tuesday, but a judge has ordered them reinstated.

“It certainly raises the question, what are Democrats doing in the polls that they are working so hard to shield folks from monitoring in this election?” state Republican chairman Rob Gleason said in a statement.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has turned his attention to Pennsylvania in the final days of the race, as polls there have tightened in a state that President Obama’s campaign believed it would win fairly easily. Mr. Romney turned out about 30,000 supporters Sunday night at a rally in the Philadelphia suburbs.

The New Black Panther Party was back at the polls Tuesday in Philadelphia, where its members provoked a complaint of voter intimidation in 2008.

A reporter for Philadelphia Magazine found a “uniformed member of the New Black Panther Party” Tuesday morning at the entrance to a polling place in the 1200 block of Fairmount Avenue in Philadelphia. The reporter, Victor Fiorillo, told the man he was going to take his photograph.

“No pictures, please,” he replied. When the reporter asked the black panther if he was there to provide security, the man replied, “No comment.”

Other Black Panthers reportedly showed up at a second polling place in Philadelphia Tuesday morning.

    Edward Abbey

The Republicans have put together serious detailed counter-proposals when we have objected to this administration’s agenda. And so, I want to tell the President and remind him again, we’re not voting no for political expediency. We’ve got our principles, and we’re going to stand up and defend those.
    Eric Cantor

    Does that answer your question?

  24. Brian Opsahl

    Game On !!
So much for putting Americans first huh nussifer, You lost and the American people have choosen the direction it wants us to go, and to bad so sad the choose Mr Obama NOT the loser Eric Cantor….!! Game on ….and bad choice …i’m putting America First …and what a sore loser..

  25. It may already be too late:

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years.”

Take your tin cap off, come off the cliff, our Country every year under Mr Obama has gotten better economicly, Osama is dead, The Auto industry is booming, he said the deficit will be a top priority, and your ready to jump off the cliff….!! Put America first…Please

  27. Obviously, you are drinking too much kool-ade. The level of job growth has declined every year, since 2010. In fact, current job growth levels don’t even keep pace with our population growth, so we are actually LOSING ground. Of course, you might enjoy the fact that 23 million Americans are unemployed, or under-employed, and that there is no hope of any change any time soon.

Obama has promised nothing more than the continuation of his failed agenda, which includes running our debt up to $20 TRILLION, and beyond. Plus, we will soon see how much “flexibility” he will offer Putin.

  28. Brian Opsahl

It’s one thousand % better than the last guy…thats for sure. I guess you forgot how bad it was under Bush…I almost lost everything and our Country almost lost everything…Right !! do you remember that !!

  29. Stock market news, Dow update: Stocks plunge after Election 2012, Europe woes deepen

NEW YORK — A sell-off on Wall Street gained momentum Wednesday, with the Dow falling below 13,000 for the first time in two months, as investors focused on how President Obama plans to avoid the fiscal cliff after he won re-election Tuesday night.

The Dow Jones industrial average fell more than 300 points, or 2.3%.

JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America were the biggest drags on the blue chip index. And other banks followed suit, with shares of Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and Wells Fargo all sharply lower.

The Nasdaq and S&P 500 both also sank more than 2%, with coal and for-profit education stocks leading the decline.

“This is purely a reaction to the political landscape and an investor response to the policies on the table — all the new regulation that will add to the costs of doing business for certain industries and sectors” said Jack Ablin, chief investment office at Harris Private Bank. “Financials are getting hit the hardest, and energy isn’t far behind.”

Coal producer Alpha Natural Resources sank 13%, making it the biggest loser in the S&P 500 while Peabody Energy, James River Coal Co, CONSOL Energy and Walter Energy were also down. Oil companies Exxon Mobil Chevron and Halliburton also fell.

The business world understands what Obamunism will do to the economy. How low will it go?

  30. BTW, I also remember that things were a LOT better under Bush #43, until the Democrats took control of Congress.

  31. Orlando Clay

snuss fantasizes: “BTW, I also remember that things were a LOT better under Bush #43….” Oh, yeah, you mean like back in August 2001 when a PDB memo entitled “Bin Laden Determined to Strike in America” gathered dust on Bush’s desk while he spent an entire month in Crawford ,Texas learning how to navigate a bicycle?

    snuss…..once a putz, always a putz.

  32. Typical Leftist blathering. When you can’t dispute the facts, you resort to personal attacks.

  33. Brian Opsahl

You and all those bad ideas LOST nussifer, America has chosen a completly differant path.
Maybe you didn’t see that Mr Obama and his ideas DID win. You can’t change what happened with Bush he was an idiot that was dumb enough to let his VP run things.

Chenney and his OLD Company Haliburton was standing to make billions in no bid contracts from the War in Iraq and if took American blood for them to cash in so be it.

Answer that nuss, who paid for the 2 wars Bush put on the credit card, and the 2 tax cuts he gave the wealthy,Medicare part-D and the free perscriptions…..WHO PAID FOR THAT ….Mr Romnesia

  37. Adam Faber

Ted, again, are you going to respond to my refutation of some of your points or make-believe that they’re true?

  38. Brian Opsahl

Adam the silence says it all dude, when wrong he goe’s silent, it’s telling !!

  39. Adam Faber

Yes, Brian. Ted does call any argument that uses actual facts a “personal attack”. Funny, huh?

  40. Brian Opsahl

Ted, Not one dime of extra tax money is coming out of your pocket, you keep mentioning how all these people (takers) are getting free stuff, how they just vote for free things.

Funny thing though I have a cousin who lives on Blackhawk Island and went to see all this free stuff he’s been getting, well what i seen was a Man struggeling to survive on all that free stuff he was getting, the big hole in his floor where i could see the ground in his kicthen or the missing teeth from no Dental, he did have a TV though just the 4 local channels was what he had.

Why fox and friends and you Ted, think these folks are doing so well is behond me, the reality is they are NOT, and i’m sick of watching Fox pound this into everybodys head.

  41. And I always love how Conservatives like to point out gas being under two bucks a gallon when Obama took office as if it wasn’t up over four as recently as election day & right back up to that price within weeks of his inauguration.

Note — to pundits on both sides of the aisle — THE PRESIDENT DOES NOT DETERMINE THE PRICE OF GAS!!!!!

It was only that low for about a week, and it was only that low as a stunt orchestrated by oil companies to get us all to line up around the block to gas our cars up.

    AND IT WORKED!!!!

    Americans are stupid.

  42. Adam Faber

It’s funny how conservatives tout the free market until they want the President to step in and somehow set gasoline prices. Ted, you may want to look at the five or eight year chart of gasoline prices at http://gasbuddy.com/gb_retail_price_chart.aspx.
