Media focus on Petraeus affair not Benghazi hearings!

After investigating for less than a week, why is the mainstream media reporting more detail on the “Petraeus Affair” than it reported in the past eight weeks concerning the September 11, 2012 assassination of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans in Benghazi, Lybia?

Americans know everything about Petraeus, his wife, his girlfriend Paula Broadwell – whose name sounds like one of the fictitious names of the female antagonists in a James Bond movie – and Petraeus’ platonic relationship with Jill Kelley, all their emails, travel plans, time tables, CIA and FBI involvement, etc. – in one week!

This type of investigative reporting was also needed in the Benghazi attack. Too bad it was hardly used – too harmful to the administration’s statements prior to the election that the al-Qaida was under control, I suspect.

The Congressional hearings on the Benghazi attack could determine when or if Ambassador Stevens requested help after two attacks on the American diplomatic consulate, including bombing its outer wall, or had our ambassador asked for help on the day of his and three other American’s deaths.

The mainstream media was mostly silent, prior to the U.S. election, except to push the idea that an anti-muslim video had caused an unplanned, uncoordinated attack on the embassy. Petraeus was also supposed to testify in the hearings as CIA director  – coincidence?

Are we sure if the administration officials, the CIA or others could have helped our people after six or seven hours of fighting? We may never know without the hearings and truthful testimony. Where are the Washington Post’s Watergate reporters today, the Bob Woodward’s and Carl Bernstein’s, when America needs them the most?

My conclusion is the liberal media is diluting the effects of the Congressional hearings concerning this administration’s actions, or lack of actions in Benghazi, by reporting on every aspect of the Petraeus Affair, instead of investigating what the administration knew and when they knew it concerning the death of our ambassador and three other Americans in a coordinated attack on U.S. soil.

The article linked to this post, one article, contains 1813 words. Today, the mainstream media’s role as the Fourth Branch of government is to serve as this administration’s mouthpiece, not as a service to the American people!
