About Ted Biondo
Ted Biondo retired in 2005 after 32 years at Hamilton Sundstrand, including 17 years as an Electrical/Software Engineering Manager. He also designed electrical test facilities for the National Space Program for 10 years at McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis, Missouri and Cape Kennedy, Florida and at Rockwell International in Downey, California.
Ted was a community member of the Rockford Register Star Editorial Board and the Community Viewpoint Board in the early 1990s. He has written numerous articles on local, state and national issues pertaining to education, legal and financial issues, and was a finalist for the Excalibur Award in 2007.
Ted served three years as vice president of the Rockford School board and was chairman of the Finance and Education Committees during 1997 – 2001. He just finished his ninth year on the Rock Valley College Board of Trustees, served as Board Chair for two years and was the Finance Committee Chair for seven years.
Ted also co-chaired the successful Kids Win and Rebuilding Rockford referendum campaigns and is currently in his fourth year as a member of the Winnebago County board, serves as Chairman of the Finance and Administrative committee and was appointed to the Budget and Finance subcommittee of the Rockford School Board.
He graduated Valedictorian at Central High School (Saint Louis) in 1961, awarded a BSEE degree from Saint Louis University in 1965 and was selected for membership in two national honors fraternities in mathematics and electrical engineering.
He and his wife, Patricia, have been married for 49 years, with two children and five grandchildren.
