Research shows that defensive gun use saves lives!

From today’s Patriot Post – Excerpt: In January, Barack Obama was leading the charge for federal gun control measures, standing on the caskets of the children killed at Sandy Hook Elementary in December. He asked the Centers for Disease Control to “research the causes and prevention of gun violence.” His objective, of course, was to reinforce the leftist narrative that guns were to blame for acts of evil. Instead of blaming the perpetrator, the Left focuses on the implement. The CDC passed the job to the...

Obama favored “Stand Your Ground” law in Illinois Senate

According to the Wall Street Journal, during the president’s remarks on the George Zimmerman’s acquittal, Obama said it would be wise to ‘examine’ state and local laws governing the use of firearms in self-defense. He suggested that ‘stand your ground’ provisions are ‘sending a message’ that ‘someone who is armed potentially has the right to use those firearms even if there’s a way for them to exit from a situation.’ He also asked: ‘Is that really going to be contributing...

Quinn creates nonstandard Concealed Carry throughout Illinois

According to Joe Sosnowski’s July 02, 2013 eNewsletter, Quinn is using his amendatory veto power to unilaterally change many portions of HB183, the Concealed Carry bill passed by a veto-proof majority vote of both houses of the General Assembly. The governor’s language will create a patchwork of different regulations and overly restrictive laws that will only obstruct law abiding citizens’ second amendment rights – the Chicago way! The governor is changing these portions of the law: Illinois must keep guns out of any...

Excerpt: Connecticut has long been home to a number of firearm manufacturers, but that’s quickly changing following state lawmakers’ decision to exploit the Sandy Hook massacre to increase...

The victimization rate for other violent crimes with a firearm — assaults, robberies and sex crimes — was 75% lower in 2011 than in 1993. Violent non-fatal...

Quinn’s giving cities choice to regulate concealed-carry is unworkable

Governor Quinn’s idea to give cities the choice to regulate concealed-carry reminds me of Wyatt Earp in Dodge City posting that all guns are to be left at his office until visitors leave town. With Quinn’s legislation as law, one would have to remove the firearm, then put it back on and each town would have to post whether or not you would be allowed to carry your weapon in their town or face arrest as you traveled from town to town. This legislation is simply from another in a long line of Chicago politicians and left-wing nut...
