United ticking passengers off

Ticks found on a plane delay flight from Denver to Des Moines

There are too many obvious jokes here. I’m overwhelmed.

When I flew into RFD for the AirFest, I took my 16 month old son with me. United denied me pre-boarding privileges in both Denver and Anchorage, but SkyWest allowed it in both Denver and Madison. I fly three times a year between Alaska and USAirways, and I had never been denied that before. I understand its a “privilege”, but it sure helps parents get their kids buckled up that much quicker in order to help the airline expediate their boarding process.

I only had one reason to fly United in the first place: they flew to Rockford. Now I have two reasons to never fly them again.

So were the ticks considered passengers or checked baggage? Baggage has a lower fee.

You’d think in this harsh economic time, airlines would bend over backwards to be positive to the customers still willing to fly with them. “Sorry, we have to charge you a lot more and charge for baggage and soda and reserved seats, but we’re going to be real nice about it and give you some common courtesies.” How much would it cost them to let you preboard? Nada.

Of course, I’ll still fly pretty much any reputable airline if the price and time is right.

Sorry I missed you when you were out here for AirFest. When might you be coming back this way>

    Craig,

Depends, were they connecting in Denver or flying direct?

    Thomas,

Sorry I missed ya as well. Got pretty busy around AirFest time, but loved every second of it.

I’ll be escaping the Great White North for good and heading down to Rockford at the end of this year. We’ll have to catch up at that bar in Loves Park you were talking about. I’m a sucker for B.S. trivia!
