They say that you can sit and eat on Broadway (oooon Broooadway)

NYC officials are converting half a stretch of Broadway into a pedestrian mall.

Makes some sense - Broadway is only two lanes on each side of this stretch, so why not here as well? Anything to encourage biking and walking instead of driving in Gotham couldn’t hurt. I mean, ya gotta be pretty crazy to drive from Times Square to Herald Square there anyway.

We’ll see if it works. I like that Bloomberg is being aggressive on this. What I find funny is that workers started doing it and weren’t going to announce it til it was almost done in August. Because, in the middle of Manhattan,  you can hide something like that.
