I am not complaining as it has hit $1.67 in South Beloit today.
According to illinoisgasprices.com, it is down to $1.49 in Ottowa,IL today.
Looking at e-mails I saved when I complained to my Congressman, it was about $1.35 in August of 2003, and then went up gradually to Dec of that year to about $1.70.

When was gas $1.29? The last time oil was at $50 a barrel, it was January, 2007, and gas in Rockford was in the low $2 range. By that account, we're better off now.

And you can cherry pick prices all you want, but there isn't a general 30 cent difference in prices. Judging just by Road Ranger's stations in Illinois, it's now $1.79 in Rockford, which happens to be the same prices as in Springfield. The lowest RR price in Illinois is $1.57 in Hartford (just outside St Louis), but most are in the $1.60s and $1.70s.

Thanks for reading, but I don't see proof of a conspiracy, just a pricier environment to do business in.

Quit complaining, when gas prices went up, and oil was $50 a barrell, gas was $1.29 a gallon. So complaining, no just that we are still getting ripped off. The gas companies here in Rockford, want to keep it at least 50cents highter then it should be and 30 cents higher then elsewhere in Illinois. Give me a breat, you must be Pat Cunnighams twin. The next thing you know you will support a bailout of the auto industry.
