What’s your hurry?

With everyone being gasoline conscious (and at $3.25 a gallon who isn’t noticing the pinch), it could be the best way to cut down on fill-ups is to drive the speed limit. Green experts say we could save between 10 and 20% and on a small car that could be $4 to $8 per tank. Hummmm, you would have to like that. I’m trying to slow down, will you too?

I just got a car this fall that I can set set so it beeps annoyingly every time I go above a certain speed limit. Just that simple feedback alone has done a lot to remind me to slow down. Of course, if you don’t have that feature in your car, I suppose you could ask someone to ride around with you and yell at you every time you go too fast (for some, that person is called a spouse)…

Hummmmm …. I need to know about this feature. It’s difficult to use the cruise control in town! Perhaps there’s a new service business possibility — one which provides the person to ride around with you?

I think the pothole problem has pretty much alleviated any speeding in Rockford.
