Super Tuesday II is over - What’s Next?

John McCain’s last Republican competitor, Mike Huckabee, has dropped out of the race, and I’m disappointed. I was seriously looking forward to witnessing the miracle that the former Arkansas governor was praying for.
Now, I eagerly anticipate the drama that’s certain to unfold between Obama and Hillary. My biggest concern is that she’ll succeed in getting the Democratic party to rewrite the rules that apply to the Michigan and Florida delegates. If the rules ARE changed, I certainly hope those states will have a do-over of sorts, allowing both candidates to campaign there and allowing voters to re-cast their votes, rather than letting the votes stand, which would be completely unfair.

Michigan, Florida and all the Democratic presidential candidates knew of and agreed to the rules about the unauthorized changing of primary dates. Florida and Michigan knew what the consequences would be and did it anyway. I don’t think there should be a “do-over.” Maybe the Democrats in both those states will get rid of the political hacks that made the decision to defy the national committee that cost them their voice in the most competitive Democratic primary in my lifetime. Now, that would be REAL change.

I agree - I don’t think there should be a do-over, either. The rules were agreed upon, and they should be followed. I’m just saying that it would be more unfair to just up and seat the delegates than to have another special primary or caucus, which would at least allow the candidates to have a chance to campaign.
And you’re right about getting rid of the political hacks!
