The Register Star has brought together a group of people from all over the Rock River Valley to serve on our Election 2008 Voters' Panel. These men and women are Republicans, Democrats, Independents and Green party members. Some are high school students. Some are retired. And some fall in between those two age groups. They all share this: The upcoming election is important and voters do have voices. They'll share them in this blog.

The only candidate that I liked got knocked out of the race long ago. I really don't like any of the three that are left. That being said, I'll try to look at this logically.
With Huckabee out of it, McCain can sit back, do fundraising and analyze what weaknesses he can exploit of Hillary and Barak. That should be a plus for him because each of them carries baggage that can be exploited.
However, he just received a kiss of death. Bush has announced he is backing McCain. From the Democrats perspective, I can't think of a better thing to have happen to McCain.
Barak and Hillary? They've had a love/hate relationship. One minute they're in a love fest, the next they're having a lover's quarrel. The delegate count is close and they'll slug it out to the end which will give McCain plenty of ammunition to shoot at the survivor.
On the one hand, the close combat will toughen each of them up and on the other hand, they'll give McCain plenty of bullets.
I don't know who this helps more, but I'm enjoying the battle. Whoever wins in November will not be my choice but they'll have provided me with plenty of entertainment.
