That's why I use my limited writing skills to submit my writings to tthe Letters to the Editor. I try to be be a catalyst so that others will take up arms, so to speak, and start holding their elected officials accountable for their actions, or more appropriately, inactions. As of now, I'm either taking positions that others don't agree to or not expressing myself very clearly. Whichever the case, I haven't done what I've set out to do. But, I'll keep trying. Right now my project is to get Dick Durbin out of his Senate seat. I don't believe he is responsive to his constituents. I can't even remember the name of his Republican opponent or what his position is on anything. But, I will do what little I can to support him, not because he's a Republican, but because I think Dick Durbin needs to be thrown out of office. I agree, Jon. Unfortunately and all too often we the voters have a short memory when we walk into the voting booth and we give a pass to those legislators who have been less than honest or just inept.
