Comments on: Who’s Infringing upon Whom?

The Register Star has brought together a group of people from all over the Rock River Valley to serve on our Election 2008 Voters' Panel. These men and women are Republicans, Democrats, Independents and Green party members. Some are high school students. Some are retired. And some fall in between those two age groups. They all share this: The upcoming election is important and voters do have voices. They'll share them in this blog.

How pervasive is the twisted and convoluted thinking of elected Gods... I mean, official? It really goes deep. It starts with the President of the U.S. not wanting us to know who established the energy policy (still wondering whatever happened to that). Doesn't want us to know who was involved in firing U.S. Attornys and who ratted out Valerie Plame. Then there's Congress who sneaks stuff that the citizens don't want into bills without discussion or public record. Now it's county board members that don't want to have their stupidity preserved for posterity. How did we ever create this class of rule-by-devine-right officials and when did we do it? You're right, remember these and all other arrogant royal family members when the ballots are handed out.

Audrey,
You are right on the mark on this one! If they are afraid what they say might be recorded then they should keep their mouths shut!

If they are too afraid the voters won't like what they REALLY believe then they shouldn't be in that job in the first place.
