I’d give the edge to Duck Soup, but you’re right — Horse Feathers is almost as brilliant — and still funny more than 75 years later. Some people like the more polished MGM Marx movies, like A Night at the Opera or A Day at the Races, but give me these rough and tumble Paramount movies every time!
One of my profs in college would always open his class with a great Marx Bros. clip. His way of warming us up for two hours of lecture? Not sure. But they sure made us laugh.
It’s remarkable how well the comedy holds up over time in the old Paramount Marx Bros. movies. They’re STILL funny!!!
