Here’s the trailer for “John Carter,” Disney’s big sci-fi epic opening next spring. It’s based, of course, on the “John Carter of Mars” books by Edgar Rice Burroughs, and it’s directed by Andrew Stanton, best known as the director of “Finding Nemo” and “Wall-E.”
With Stanton helming this and Brad Bird directing “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol,” it seems like the time for Pixar guys to make the move to live action.
“John Carter” opens March 9, 2012.
By the way, writer Michael Crichton named the “ER” character John Carter (played by Noah Wyle) as a nod to these stories. It was supposed to symbolize how this brand-new doctor was entering an alien world.
