Trailer for ‘Men in Black 3′

Here’s the first trailer for the long-delayed (long-awaited?) third entry in the “Men in Black” franchise, which returns Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith to their roles as the guys in sunglasses. I didn’t think much of the second movie, but I’ve got a soft spot for the original, and the promise of a few twists makes this one look potentially entertaining…

‘Community’ Podcast 12/9/2011: Regional Holiday Music

For what could be the last episode of “Community” for the forseeable future, Chris Soprych, Melissa Westphal and yours truly salute our favorite sitcom and discuss one of its finest episodes. Offering insight on the “Glee” jokes (courtesy of Melissa) and too much talk about the “Star Wars” holiday special (courtesy of me and Chris), it’s a holiday treat for all. Ho ho ho.

This week’s trailer: Bad and worse

Though none of the trailers for this week promises the gouge-your-eyes-out horror of that Three Stooges teaser I posted a few days ago, neither of the movies opening this weekend looks good. First, there’s Jonah Hill (pre weight loss Jonah Hill) in “The Sitter.” Then, there’s “New Year’s Eve,” the less said the better.

Avoid ‘em both and go see something else. Or, for that matter, stare at a wall.

‘Three Stooges’ teaser is the worst thing ever. Until the movie comes out, that is.

Admittedly, no one with an iota of sense could think a modern “Three Stooges” movie could actually be good, but whom among us actually expected it to look this bad?

For a while, the rumor mill was theorizing that big names like Sean Penn, Benecio del Toro and Russell Crowe might be involved. Obviously that didn’t happen. But so what if it had? The only people who should play Larry, Curly and Moe are Larry, Curly and Moe — and they’re all long dead, kids.

But, of course, they live on in the movies they made while alive. Why not …
