Trailer for ‘Men in Black 3′

Here’s the first trailer for the long-delayed (long-awaited?) third entry in the “Men in Black” franchise, which returns Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith to their roles as the guys in sunglasses. I didn’t think much of the second movie, but I’ve got a soft spot for the original, and the promise of a few twists makes this one look potentially entertaining…

‘John Carter’ trailer

Here’s the trailer for “John Carter,” Disney’s big sci-fi epic opening next spring. It’s based, of course, on the “John Carter of Mars” books by Edgar Rice Burroughs, and it’s directed by Andrew Stanton, best known as the director of “Finding Nemo” and “Wall-E.”

With Stanton helming this and Brad Bird directing “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol,” it seems like the time for Pixar guys to make the move to live action.

Director out, writer in on ‘Judge Dredd’

The footage is in the can, but apparently the director is no longer wanted on the big-budget science fiction movie “Judge Dredd,” which is tentatively due to hit theaters next September.

Quoth the Los Angeles Times:

Although he completed shooting the picture earlier this year, (director Pete) Travis has not been involved in the current editing phase of the movie, after creative disagreements with producers and executives in charge of the film reached a boiling point, said three people with knowledge of the production who asked not to be identified because they were not authorized to speak about the
