Tom Cruise goes back to the ’80s in ‘Rock of Ages’
Here’s the trailer for “Rock of Ages,” the star-studded tribute to ’80s rock based on the hit Broadway musical. As thrilled as I am to see movies finally moving past the music of the 1960s (and all the way into the 1980s!), I’m a little insulted that this sort of corporate rock is referred to as “the music of a generation” — mostly because, this time around, it’s my generation.
By the way, when the trailer says “from the director of ‘Hairspray’,” they don’t mean John Waters. Now that’s a movie I’d be excited to see!…

‘Three Stooges’ teaser is the worst thing ever. Until the movie comes out, that is.
Admittedly, no one with an iota of sense could think a modern “Three Stooges” movie could actually be good, but whom among us actually expected it to look this bad?
For a while, the rumor mill was theorizing that big names like Sean Penn, Benecio del Toro and Russell Crowe might be involved. Obviously that didn’t happen. But so what if it had? The only people who should play Larry, Curly and Moe are Larry, Curly and Moe — and they’re all long dead, kids.
